The Truth About Ultherapy!

The Truth About Ultherapy!

When Ultherapy first came out there was a lot of controversy as to how effective the treatment was with some online reviews saying ‘Ultherapy melted my face’.  However, after doing some research I found out that this was because various clinics may have been using ‘fake’ machines or parts.   Fast forward a few years and now its only positive reviews along with a new and undated version of the machine.

-       It uses focused ultrasound

-       Concentrated ultrasound that hits the muscle layer

-       Can tighten skin

-       Gives a natural lift

-       Stimulates collagen with results visible after 3 months

-       Only one treatment needed which last up to 18 months

-       Commonly used on the lover part of the face.

I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive as I’d heard that this was a very painful treatment.   However, being a glutton for punishment I wanted to try it and see if the pain was worth it.   After numbing my skin for 20 minutes my therapist at The Cavendish clinic then marked out the areas she was going to treat and then we got started.   The ‘wand’ they use is run over your face at least 20 times in one area and then repeated 2 more times each pass targeting a different layer of the skin/muscle – finishing off on the more superficial layer – which is why you get the initial tightening and I found this the most painful part of the treatment but even then it was bearable.   I think it’s clear these machines have come a long way since they first started.

Three months on and I’m looking more toned, my jaw line is defiantly tighter so I’d highly recommend this treatment, it isn’t as painful as I’d been lead to believe and my face certainly hasn’t melted off.   Just make sure you go to a reputable clinic like The Cavendish Clinic.
