Can you really achieve a face lift with fillers?
The days of the puffed up looking face from over filling it with fillers are thankfully long behind us. Since they first came onto the market in the early 2000s there are lots of cool techniques that can now be done from correcting a crooked nose or weak chin to removing eye bags. However, what I’ve been hearing a lot about recently was how they can now be used to create a natural looking face lift. Intrigued I went to see facial plastic surgeon Dr Golchin at the Dr Rita Rakus clinic in Knightsbridge to see what he could do about my jowls which had been bothering me for some time now.
First things first, Dr Golchin is a real master of his trade, not only at surgery but on the cosmetic side he has a natural eye for creating a look which suits your face rather than altering it and a one size fits all.
After we discussed what was bothering me he started his magic, filling small amounts at my temples (did you know we lose volume here which can be dramatically ageing?), a tiny amount on my cheek bones near my eyes, along my jaw line and a small amount on my cheeks near the bottom of my nose and then finally in my chin, which was pretty affective as I’d noticed as I’d got older even my chin was less defined - no longer thanks to Dr G! Teamed with some ‘emotional botox’ as Dr G likes to call them, basically you keep the lines which we are used to seeing with certain emotions i.e if we smile EVERYONE gets a few lines under the eyes but he just softens them.
There are lots a of aesthetic doctors out there offering a face lift with fillers but as Dr Golchin explained you can end up with a big moon face so its about placing small amounts in the key areas which avoid this and give you a fresher looking face.
So in answer to my question, yes you can achieve a subtle face lift from fillers just make sure the person injecting you knows what they are doing.
