The power of RED LIGHT and CRYO therapy
For the last year I’ve really felt like my war on ageing has been a loosing battle and that makes sense, right? Because, as we all know you can never beat it – it will always win! My focus has solely been on my face, which then started to creep down to my neck before I then started noticing the skin on my stomach and knees looking a bit creepy – it just goes on! I’m 43 and quite frankly I felt exhausted by it all. That was until I heard of red-light therapy beds. Now, I’ve been having LED light ‘facials’ for many years as I suffer from rosacea and this is really the only thing that helps to calm my skin when I’m having a flair-up so I know about all the amazing benefits from using this magic red light from boosting collagen, evening out skin tone and softening skin making it feel more hydrated! I’ve wanted to try these beds for years now as the idea of the light healing all over your body was very appealing and filled me with a lot of excitement but they had never been available in the UK, that was until REDjuvenate Medical on High Street Kensington launched the first bed in the UK last year!
REDjuvenate Medical is run by Dr.Qian Xu and Dr. Andrew Greenland and with a combined 35 years of medical knowledge between the two of them you know that this is something that will get results. What with benefits like levelling out mood swings, a better nights sleep, healing sports injury (a lot of athletes use these beds) the more I heard about the benefits of using a Red Light bed the more I knew I had to try this and not only for. my rosacea but I’d also because i’d developed tennis elbow from working out at home during the lockdown.
What’s also fantastic about this clinic is that they also have cryotherapy there too called Ice Health Cryotherapy which is run by the amazing Alla Pashynska. Her clinic has been running since 2010 and I’ve never met anyone more passionate about the health benefits of Cryo than Alla! Her machines are extra special as they aren’t electric like most of the chambers on the market - she uses Liquid Nitrogen to expose the body to extreme cold temperatures of up to minus 180 degrees Celsius for 3 minutes - it’s quite an experience. However, she heats you first and then the cold starts so it’s the combination of heat and cold which generates the incredible benefits.
So, I wanted to find out what happens when you combine the two therapies together? You get a youth fountain cocktail that’s what! Red light followed by the Cryo chamber and quite frankly it’s like stepping out of a time machinery as not only did my skin look and feel better - less creepy and more toned - but I felt better from more clarity, less brain fog and totally energised. And, my tennis elbow has gone! What about the sleep? Well, if I’m totally honest I didn’t notice it on my first session but after the second session It was pretty incredible. After having children I never ever fall into a deep sleep but after this magic combo I was in the deepest slumber, I haven’t slept like that for the last 10 years.
Do these matches work? You bet they do. Would I continue using them? I did 3 sessions and I’m now on season 8 so yes! I need this in my life and so do you!
