Mini Vohra
Blowout meets up with celeb and billionaire events guru Mini Vohra, director of Cornucopia Events. We are very excited to hear about his life and career and perhaps some juicy behind the scenes stories.
“Most of our private clients are billionaires” Say’s Mini Vohra casually. As if I have just asked him his thoughts on the food we just ate, while Mini reclines gently back into a cosy coffee shop style of chair in a bustling central London bar, sipping his coffee, strong and sweet, like the man. “Are we okay for time?” I ask. Mini discreetly looks at his watch. Which I happened to note is in contrast to his demure Saturday morning attire of a light weight tailored Tom Ford navy blue morning suit- Scented by Black Orchid -by Mr. T. Ford too.(quite probably another friend and client of Cornucopia’s, I think to myself) Mini wears a Hublot Big Bang watch. My eyes try not to gawk as the glistening abundance of exquisity shines up from his wrist. Neatly covered by his cuff linked shirt cuffs. I’am on another level. It is only 10:30am in the morning, and Mini has been out at an event for some big theatre producers at private members club, - Annabel’s (famously the only club in the world that our Majesty the Queen has attended) - the previous night; “Although we have organised parties for billionaires - With an average spend of between £1 million to £2 million - Parties on the lower end of the scale tend to be around £250,000.” Mini goes on to inform me. His tone of voice is typically soothing, even when recounting the most amazing of stories. It is, after all, what he lives and breathes every day. And modesty becomes the man before me.
Keen to provide the ultimate experience for their privileged clients, Mini says’ many clients don’t even set a budget. “They just want the best party possible; they want to make the venue look amazing and for their guests to be wowed. It’s extremely fun to have an unlimited spend," he said.
Established in 2002, Cornucopia Events offers everything from imaginative set design, to a 24-hour dedicated contact team, and effortless to-the-moment concierge management. With an original tagline of; Cornucopia Events- ‘Hosting London since 2002’ – it is now apparent this may need to expand to ‘Cornucopia Events – Hosting the Globe since 2002’. - Just a thought.
Taylor Swift, Carlos Slim, Wall Street billionaires, - Cornucopia has a billionaire client list to rival any investment funds bank-sheet - Cornucopia Group has worked on Samuel L Jackson’s Charity Ball and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Foundation Gala in the past two years alone. They are also the only company in the world that can get a client into the Oscars. – As we have read.
From Russian Billionaires like Dmitry Rybolovlev who suffered the most expensive divorce settlement in history (4.5 Billion settlement) to Hungarian Billionaires such as Andy Vajna (the producer of Terminator, Basic Instant, Die Hard and Rambo) everyone who is anyone in the elite world of the rich and famous has commissioned Cornucopia Groups attentions. They [Cornucopia] have even produced work for the world’s youngest Monarch; Sheikh Mohamed Hamad Al-Thani (The King of Qatar) and the Royal Family of Bahrain. Our very own HRH Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has even attended their events.
Gattyan (the porn King Billionaire) is also a client – “and Gattyan’s own events are not as risqué as you may imagine.” Quips Mini. “Though The Royal Family of Kuwait is a big spender. “Mini adds, almost as an afterthought. The Royal Family of Sweden is on his speed dial, and Mini parties regularly with them at the Cannes Film Festival. And oh, Princess Olympia of Greece, who has just celebrated her 21st Birthday with Paris Hilton and Cara Delavigne, calls Mini regularly to arrange access into events. Not too shabby. As the saying goes.
Surmising the growth of this most prestigious of event planning companies is a little bit like charting the growth of a country. They started small, honing their craft, and rapidly grew a reputation as a go-to company for tailored and elite high-end event planning. Mini can open doors to the finest luxury brands and venues across our globe. Also affording unique access to the hardest slash hottest tickets in town; London Fashion Week, the Oscars, Royal Regattas & tea-parties…
Mini, and his growing empire, Cornucopia Events, is by far-and-away the finest elite event management brand in the globe. There is nothing that they cannot achieve for you. If you want a pink elephant to stroll majestically across the plains as you entertain your royalty clients, film stars and fashionistas, Mini and his dedicated team of professionals will ensure that you do indeed have a pink elephant strolling majestically across the plain.
A look at Mini Vohra’s Cornucopia Entertainment Group Ltd- events
A Company that targets CEO’s, sovereignties and billionaires as their clients, Cornucopia Events is one of the World’s leading event services companies. An eye-catching 100 million pound global business, split across two offices and employing over 23 full time staff, the Group comprises of three brands that provide event management, wedding planning, concierge, lifestyle, MICE, Luxury Leisure and event services.
Recently written about in several major newspaper titles -including a piece by the New York Times -, there is also a steady interest in Cornucopia Group from various online editions of globally recognised publications. Cornucopia Events is clearly reaching out to the farthest corners of our globe in 2023 and beyond. Here are a couple of short examples from recent publications:
Conference & Incentive Travel magazine – or- C&IT, by its’ acronym - in August 2016 reported the story of Cornucopia Events being directly approached by the VP to host prestigious Thailand based Entertainment company, Mactus’, annual staff celebration and showcase party. An event held at the massive Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand in 2018: “We are very excited to work with Mini and his team again and are looking forward to the F1H20 Concert in Thailand headlined by a number of other international artists [inc. Maroon , Beyonce and Taylor Swift]” said Tricia NG, assistant vice president at Mactus, who hold an annual party for its 11,000 strong staff members at an eye watering 24.5 USD budget. The complexities, nuances, and strategic management of an event of this size, in a location at the other side of the world to company home in London, is comparable to a Wembley arena concert by Madonna, Kylie, Take That…A feat of amazement . . We could go on. Point-in-fact; for the VP of a large multi-national entertainment company to personally approach Cornucopia Events is a testament to the strength and quality of Cornucopia’s brand name and pulling power.
Stand Out Magazine, - Appropriately named, however coincidentally – in November 2016 ran a story on Cornucopia Event’s hosting of an eye dazzling royal family event in the middle east. At the specific request of the Royal Family of Bahrain Cornucopia was commissioned to host the elite annual Royal Military Show in November 2016. “Another multi-million pound event,” say’s Mini, the man sitting opposite me on a Saturday morning in a bustling inner city bar somewhere in central London. “Going further”, I press: “His Highness is a huge fan of horses, dressage and shooting/archery, and our video mapping story captured that appeal.” replies Mini, whilst tackling a poached egg benedict. So the creative artworks of Mini’s dedicated artistic team created a breath-taking spectacular of projected 4d moveable merger images – a collage –depicting classical British culture, [including of course, many horse related scenes] transposed with traditional Bahrain heritage images onto the stunning curved backdrop of the Sofitel hotel in Bahrain, surrounded by invited guests; including the wealthiest Sheiks and royal family members in Bahrain. Synonymous, it seems, with Cornucopia.
The Oscars. The hottest ticket in a London awards ceremony calendar, and, much competed for, even within the motion picture [film] industry. Yes. Yes that is correct. Mr. Mini Vohra was also there, ‘hanging-out’ with A-list elite celebrities; Faye Dunaway, Warren Beatty, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep…we could go on. Suffice as to say the red carpet was alive with sexy, glitzy, glamourous A-Listers. All shining as an array of paparazzi cameras worked to capture every moment. It’s a hard day in the office sometimes. And, as the Global Glam online publication tells us through an in-depth interview with Cornucopia‘s founding father -MD, Mini Vohra,[ for someone to be in attendance at the Oscars, especially someone outside of motion picture industry or affiliate professions is remarkable.] “Many do not realize that in the Kodak Theatre, now called The Dolby Theatre, there is a maximum capacity of seats of around 2600. There are over 6000 Academy members, so not even all of them get to attend. Take away the nominees and their family or significant others, the sponsors, the film and stage crew, there are only 1500 available seats. Take away all of these individuals, it is then a public ballot system for those in the industry that want to attend. For example, if Leo was not a presenter this year, he would either have to attend as a guest of an attending member, or he would have to apply in this lottery system. That is how unique it is to attend this event.” recounts Mini, whilst shuffling his eggs benedict brunch around on a plate. This is an insight into the precision recall of the mind of Cornucopia’s MD. A window into the intricate and detailed knowledge Mini has on the industry he has been heralded as a primary influencer in - voted for on several successive years now in the London Club and Bar Awards. It also transpires in our conversation that Mini holds detailed knowledge of every venue, every brief, every supplier, every producer and props company he has ever gone into contract with. And, of course, every client and potential client his company has and will do business with across his expansive database. Would we expect anything less from a man, and his company, who prides himself slash itself on giving you your dreams, and is called Cornucopia? [Cornucopia – from the Latin – cornu copiae. Meaning a symbol of abundance and nourishment.]
As an aside; in the two weeks preceding the writing of this article Cornucopia Events has been shortlisted for an amazingly prestigious royal award. [The] ‘Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade.’ “This is one of the highest possible accolades a company can receive?” I ask; “probably.” Mini say’s. His warm eyes smiling at me. Okay, enough PR – I’m not on payroll.
A £7 million pound wedding, and successive parties attended by Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson and Princess Olympia of Spain are just a taste of the A-list client levels Cornucopia Entertainment Group Ltd has worked with at their amazing events in recent times.
